Okey doke. We know (or have) eight for 2003. Now we need the last six.

All-Star 9
Plastic Man 5
Atom 2
Teen Titans 1

Mystery GA 1
Mystery SA cont.

Consensus GA is Superboy with Sandman as possible back up.

SA is ...?

D.

First a question....

Is Plastic Man 5 a definite?
I think it probably is, but I haven't seen verification of that.

My projections for the two remaining volumes are:

GA Hawkman #1
Worlds Finest #3

A good possibility for the mystery SA could be Doom Patrol 2, or perhaps Flash Vol. 4

I truly hope that the GA volume is Sandman, no offense to Superman fans, of which I am one....but Wes is LONG overdue.

I'm back to thinking that the GA volume one is Superboy, with Sandman and the All-Star/BAACB compilation as backups.

For the last Silver Age volume, I'm inclined toward Hawkman 2, with World's Finest 3 and Flash 4 as backups--unless it's possible (unlikely) to rush out a second volume of Sgt.Rock by year's end, and strike while the iron is at least still cooling...

My guess is:

Mystery GA is Hawkman 1
Mystery SA is Doom Patrol 2 or Supergirl 2

Assuming that the Golden Age Archive is Superboy 1, I'll go with Doom Patrol Vol. 2 as the SA. Supergirl Vol. 2 would fit the hint of an extra-sized archive for story purposes, but the sugestion was that the Golden Age volume only recently became possible, so if it's Superboy, I bet it bumps Supergirl to 2004. If it's not Superboy, I go with Supergirl for the SA.

At this point, if the SA and GA volumes are #1s, I'd guess the GA is Superboy and the SA is possibly Metamorpho.

If they are continuations, I'd guess the GA is Starman and the SA is Flash. May be too early for the Starman though.

We know the Golden Age volume is a #1.
We have no reason to believe the Silver Age volume is.

I'll say that the Golden Age volume is Superboy, GA Sandman, or Golden Age (All-Star 1-2 and Big All-American. Possibly the 256 pager, but that one is supposed to be large to include a full story).

With the schedule always subject to change, maybe the 256 page volume which we got the hint on last year, which I still believe is Supergirl vol.2 (but, as I said, could also be "Golden Age vol.1"), was moved to next year (particularly if the mystery GA is Superboy). If that's the case, then who knows what the Silver Age volume will be. Let's see, Aquaman, Challengers, Dynamic Duo, Justice League, and Legion are out. Atom's covered, Bob indicated that Doom Patrol wasn't on schedule, and New Teen Titans seems to be set for next year at the earliest (especially with Teen Titans this year). Enemy Ace and Sgt. Rock are almost certainly out of the running. The only other options are Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, and World's Finest. Of those, World's Finest seems least likely, especially if we get Superboy, given the number of other volumes those characters have had this year. Flash and Green Lantern seem to stay on a somewhat even keel, and GL is currently ahead of Flash, so Barry may try to catch up. There's nothing to say that it isn't Hawkman (though I'd prefer a GA vol.1 before a second SA volume).

So my final answers are:

GA: Superboy vol.1, GA Sandman vol.1, or Golden Age vol.1

SA: Supergirl vol.2 (except if GA is Superboy), Flash vol.4, or Hawkman vol.1

Regarding Doom Patrol, here's Bob Greenberger from Jan. 7th:

quote:

And we expect more DOOM PATROL, either Vol. 2 in Archive or more of Grant Morrison's run in trade.

Doom Patrol is very much a candidate for the last SA book.

I can live without Plastic Man #5 for this year. I think I've seen enough of him for now. Also, I do not see anyone clamoring for that particular volume on these boards. I think if he goes away for a year, there'll be more interest in the 5th volume when it eventually does come out. Late 2004?

Doom Patrol #2 would be a very welcome addition, though. Or ANY #2 as far as I'm concerned.

Of course you don't _see_ people clamoring for Plas. They're all disguised as red chairs, boats or carpets.

Michael Uslan has something interesting coming. See The Pulse:

quote:
THE PULSE: What other projects are you working on?

USLAN: Projects: Publishing...THUNDER AGENTS ARCHIVES VOLUME 2 (May); JUST IMAGINE STAN LEE CREATING THE DC UNIVERSE VOLUME 2 (August); BATMAN: DETECTIVE #27 (November); and another archive style book to be announced shortly. Films...Way Of The Rat, Constantine, Shazam, Catwoman and many more bubbling under.

That's from the bottom of the interview.

Hmm, "another archive style book to be announced shortly". Hey Bob G., is this a DC project or someone else's? Could this be the mystery GA #1?

"Archive style book?"

I wouldn't think a DC Archives is a "DC Archives-style" book. No, its a DC Archives, plain and simple, no semantical games necessary.

A "DC Archives-style" book would be like THUNDER Agents, or perhaps what Elfquest will take shape as. Maybe this is the Charlton stuff Bob was teasing us with? Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope!

I doubt it--the Charlton heroes are DC property, and fully integrated into the DCU.

Maybe Mike has brokered another cool deal with someone else's characters.

Could Mike have put together something concerning the GA Blue Beetle? Who owns the Fox stories, anyway? DC? Public domain? Someone else? DC obviously has the trademark, and the Charlton stories, but what about the Fox stories?

Mike's in the film industry, so maybe he managed to get the Fox and Crow license transfered to Warner, and DC's long delayed reprinting of the Fox and Crow material is imminent! And maybe I missed my medication again.

My best case scenario would be that he's done a deal for DC to reprint the Gold Key material that now belongs to Acclaim--Magnus, Turok and Solar.

Why that would be just fantastic, wouldn't it?

I do recall a Bob G. tease that we would see "something interesting" with Charlton soon. Do I recall correctly?

I remember a reference to Charlton stuff too. This would be great to see, but so would the previously mentioned Gold Key work. I'd be in (happy) shock to see a Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom archive!
